FG secures $1.5 b for Ajaokuta



The federal government has secured about $1. 460 billion for the completion of the Ajaokuta Steel Mills in Ajaokuta, Kogi State.

The development signifies what could become an effective end to the over 40 year-delay in the completion of the multi-billion dollar project.

Trump has assembled team to recommend and vet candidates for clemency



WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is considering issuing additional pardons and commutations and has assembled a team of advisers to recommend and vet candidates for clemency, a White House official confirmed Thursday.

Zulum Calls For Recruitment Of 100,000 Soldiers To Defeat Boko Haram

Three doctors arraigned over baby’s death in Abuja



The Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal, on Tuesday in Abuja, arraigned three medical doctors for their alleged roles in the death of three-month-old Peace Oluwole.

The accused medical practitioners, Dr. Iyoha Joseph, Dr. Obafemi Kuye and Dr. Mukaila Oyewunmi Oladipo, were accused of conducting themselves unprofessionally by administering unnecessary drugs, delaying necessary actions and exposing the baby’s system to unnecessary drugs, which resulted in his death.

The doctors were presented before a panel headed by the chairman of the tribunal, Prof. Abba Hassan. The baby was admitted to the R. Lyon’s sack: RNDA militants vow to resume hostilities in Niger Delta



The rising protest against the Thursday nullification of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Chief David Lyon victory in Bayelsa on Tuesday took a new twist with a coalition of militant groups under the aegis of the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA) threatening to resume attacks on oil installations in the region if the mandate is not restored.

In a letter to the Presidency and Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Ibrahim Tanko, made available to Vanguard, the RNDA warned that failure to reverse the ill-fated and anti-Bayelsa peoples’ judgment may result in the resumption of hostilities against oil pipelines to cripple the economy of the country.
